We would like to invite you to participate in the sixth edition of the international competition for the Stanisław Lem European Science Award, organized by the Wrocław University of Technology.
The competition is open to young scientists no older than 40 (born in 1986 or later) who are affiliated with a university or research center in an EU member state, a country associated with the Horizon Program, or Switzerland.
The Lem Award is granted for recent scientific achievements or discoveries made within the last three years in the broadly defined field of technical sciences. The award recognizes discoveries that demonstrate creativity, interdisciplinarity, and vision, while also incorporating a strong technological component.
Competition applications (along with 2–3 letters of recommendation and up to three publications) must be submitted electronically by September 30, 2026, to the email address lemprize@pwr.edu.pl. Applications must be signed and submitted by the candidates. It is recommended to include a CV.
The winner will be announced on November 15, 2026, during the annual celebrations of Wrocław University of Science and Technology Day.
The winner will receive a cash prize of 100,000 PLN and will be invited to Wrocław in the following calendar year to attend the award ceremony and deliver a lecture on their discoveries or achievements.
